YA Librarian Recommends…

May is a month of reflection, recognition, and visibility. This month, we’re highlighting books in honor of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Mental Health Awareness Month, and Jewish American Heritage Month - each equally important, and each deserving space, attention, and care.

Rather than focusing on just one theme, this month’s selections bring together stories that explore identity, culture, resilience, and mental and emotional well-being. Some center lived cultural experiences, some dive into mental health, and others do both, because these parts of life often overlap in meaningful ways.

Whether you’re looking to feel seen, better understand someone else’s story, or just find a book that sticks with you, there’s something here for you.

📚 Stop by the Teen Room or ask your librarian to help you find your next read.
