What is TAB?
TAB stands for Teen Advisory Board. The goal of this board is to empower the teenagers of our community and help them make a real-world impact through our library. The board includes several tangible aspects, such as reflecting on programming for teens, assisting in planning displays, and volunteering. Being on the Board counts as volunteering and it will also be a gateway to additional opportunities to volunteer.
TAB is also a great learning opportunity for teenagers. Members will attend a Library board meeting annually to learn how a functional board runs and to create the opportunities for fruitful mentorships.
Furthermore, we understand that teens care about the world on a global as well as a regional level, and we want to invest in their passion. We are conscious that teenagers are not just our future, but our very active present.
At its core, TAB is all about empowering Teen Voices and turning emotions into action.
