January 2026
Jessie McConville is a firm believer that every person, at every age, can find hobbies and activitiesthat spark their creativity and bring joy to their lives. There is always something to be grateful for, to learn, to experience, to contribute to, and to create. Thank you for taking the time to experience some of the special places and joyful moments that have inspired my art. I hope you find your next something!
Jessie grew up in San Diego, California and has been living on Orcas Island since 2024. She draws inspiration from beautiful natural landscapes along the West Coast. She also uses fun subjects like animals and food to create simple and joyful pieces. While she’s always been creative, she started taking art classes more seriously and pursuing artistic opportunities about 7 years ago. Creating art in different mediums has allowed Jessie to explore new techniques and further establish her style as an artist. Linoprints focus on form and structure, so her paintings explore themes of color and movement. This is Jessie’s first solo exhibit; it is an honor to get to share her work together in one place. Jessie enjoys participating in craft markets and creating custom logos or art pieces for individuals and businesses. You can find her art for sale on postcards in several shops around Orcas Island.
She was very excited to have been selected for the library card this year, so the library is a perfect space for her first exhibit. Jessie works for the Park & District, coaches gymnastics, performs in the Orcas Dance Collective, and more. She teaches some linoprinting classes and hosts free art meetups through Create Club.
