Coronavirus [COVID-19]
Information You Can Use
The Orcas Island Library is monitoring information about the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The health and safety of staff and library users is our priority.
The Library is committed to a safe workplace for staff, and safe and welcoming libraries for public use.
The Library will be open, unless through consultation with San Juan County Health Department and other agencies, the Library is advised or directed to close to protect community health. Any changes in hours will be posted on the home page of the Library’s website.
As always, the Library encourages people to wash their hands frequently and use hand sanitizers, which are available around the Library.
The Library is keeping informed about COVID-19 from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Washington State Department of Health, and the San Juan County Health Department, among a variety of other resources.
Sharing accurate information from trusted sources is critical to reduce misinformation. As with any topic, we recommend gathering information from a variety of sources and using critical thinking skills to evaluate it.
